roller reunion

soo... last year for my b-day was when i finally hung out with mike and met chris (and promptly forgot his name...)
so, it's amazing it's been a whole year. thanks for skating again!!
(and yeah people are missing from the photo)

oh also, that's me in my upsidedown cat dress i screenprinted, sewed and embroidered for my mixed media class last term. i'm planning to wear it to performances and embroider a time-line of upsidedown cat events on it...like shows i play or other important things.. so i'll keep working on it over time, which is fun to think about!

in the last year.

well, 11 months ago i went rollerskating for my birthday and my friend jonathan brought two of his friends along. i'd met one of them, but not the other. so we hung out and rollerskated and then afterwards a bunch of us went to their house to hangout and we ended up writing some improv songs together and laughing a whole lot.
while i was leaving, we started talking about my album. jonathan and i had talked about it for at least a year i think, but that night we actually sort of made plans to start working on it.

anyways, so started my friendship with Sound Ghost, and i am so thankful for all that has happened this last year. Sound Ghost recordings have been happening for years, but it seems like we're in a new stage right now.
so if you want more history and info, check out the website and myspace page.

but i think this blog is sort of to share what we're up to, and maybe also what we are into right now, what we are inspired by.

"Sound Ghost Studios is an independent home-based project studio dedicated to the heart and vision of the Sound Ghost Musical Collective, including tracking, mixing and music production, songwriting and arrangements, handmade and tangible media, printmaking, website creation, accountability and artistic integrity, and a genuine care for others.
We also work with artists outside the collective, offering extremely competitive rates for recording time. Our sonic forging is diverse, and committed to the artist's imagination, with recordings ranging from the bright transients of the modern high-end to the warmth of dusty trail songs and currently to the warmth of the casiotone."
